Planning a Relaxing Mountain Escape? Stay at a Cozy Condo in Enumclaw, Washington

If you’ve been dreaming about a mountain getaway that doesn’t require a two-hour drive just to find your rental, I want to tell you about Enumclaw. Tucked on the Plateau between Seattle and Mount Rainier, this small town is the kind of base camp most people don’t know to look for—until they stay here and wonder why they ever day-tripped from the city. Our cozy condo in Enumclaw, Washington is designed for exactly the kind of trip where you actually get to exhale.

Why Enumclaw, Washington?

Most first-time visitors to the area focus entirely on how close they can get to Mount Rainier—which, fair. But once you stay here, you realize that location is only part of the equation. Enumclaw is about 45 minutes from the Nisqually entrance to Mount Rainier National Park and another 45 minutes from Crystal Mountain ski resort. Seattle is just an hour away when you want a city day. You’re not choosing between the mountains and convenience—you get both.

The town itself is genuinely walkable from our properties. You can start your morning at a local coffee shop, grab lunch on Cole Street, and be pulling into the national park before noon—without the exhausted, over-planned feeling that comes with a day trip from Seattle.

What Makes Our Condos Feel Like Home

A “cozy condo” can mean a lot of things, so let me be specific. Our Enumclaw, Washington condos are full-size, properly outfitted units—not cramped studio conversions. We have options that sleep smaller groups (our 2BR/1BA units sleep up to six) and larger ones designed for families or friend groups (our 3BR/2BA Alpine sleeps eight and even has an EV charger). If you’re planning a big trip, we also have three connected condos that can accommodate up to 20 guests.

What you can count on across our properties:

  • Space to spread out and actually cook a real meal
  • Comfortable beds so you wake up ready to hike, not recover
  • A home base that doesn’t feel like a hotel room
  • Walking distance to downtown Enumclaw

The Case for Staying Instead of Day-Tripping

Here’s what changes when you stay in Enumclaw instead of driving out from Seattle: you stop clock-watching. You can hike Spray Park in the morning, stop at Wapato Willie’s for a huckleberry milkshake on the way back, and still have time for dinner at Griffin & Wells (the Indian-inspired restaurant on Cole Street that I never stop recommending) without feeling like the whole day was a logistics exercise.

In winter, it’s even more obvious. Crystal Mountain is 45 minutes away. Staying in a cozy condo in Enumclaw, Washington means you’re not doing a three-hour round trip on top of a full ski day. You come home, warm up, and let the mountain stay in the background where it belongs.

Things to Do Around Enumclaw

Between the adventures, the town takes good care of you. Cole Street is the main drag—walkable, unhurried, with the kind of shops and restaurants that are actually worth your time. A few highlights:

  • Headworks, Pursuit, and Phills brewing—all walkable from our properties, all worth an evening
  • Bridget’s Boutique for the kind of small-town shopping that still has real personality
  • Not Your Basic Batch for plants, candles, macárame, and the kind of eclectic finds you didn’t know you needed
  • Casting Iron for axe throwing (kids 12+ can throw, younger ones can still come watch)

And of course, the mountains are always right there. Summer means wildflower meadows, subalpine lakes, and trails that range from easy walks to serious summit approaches. Fall turns the Plateau into something genuinely beautiful—the drive to the park alone is worth it. Winter brings snow, skiing, and the kind of quiet that’s hard to find when you’re staying in the city.

Who This Trip Is Perfect For

Our guests tend to fall into a few groups:

  • Couples who want a mountain escape without the “resort town” price tag or crowds
  • Families looking for a real home base—with enough space and a kitchen—near Rainier
  • Groups of friends planning a ski or hiking weekend who want to stay together
  • Anyone who’s been to Rainier as a day trip and wants to actually do it right this time

Sound like you? We’d love to have you. Browse our available condos and see which one fits your group—the mountain will be waiting.
